Since December 2002, the school has been fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Grace Christian Academy of Maryland is also approved by the Maryland State Department of Education, and is listed in the Directory of Nonpublic Schools Approved by the Maryland State Board of Education as the only approved Christian/private school with grades preschool through 8th grade in Charles County.

It is the goal of GCA to provide an education of scholastic excellence and to teach students that God is the source of all truth. Grace Christian Academy strives to develop in students a Christian lifestyle and a Christian worldview.

History of GCA

Grace Christian Academy of Maryland is a private Christian school (PK3 - 8th grade) with approximately 225 students. Established in 1986, GCA graduated its first senior class in 2000. Grace Christian Academy was first accredited in 1996 through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. GCA is accredited through the Maryland Department of Education, Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, and ACSI through the year 2026. The school was re-accredited in 2022. Formerly known as Grace Brethren Christian School, the name of the school was officially changed to Grace Christian Academy of Maryland in 2009 to avoid confusion with the Grace Brethren Christian School in Clinton, Maryland. The school and church occupy a 1-acre campus that includes a church building, portable classrooms, and a 40,000 square foot education building. The education building houses 13 classrooms, two science labs, an art room, a full-sized gymnasium, administrative offices, and a teacher's work area. All ministries of the church utilize the campus facilities. 

Grace Christian Academy of Maryland is one of the largest Christian schools in Charles County, Maryland. Located on a shared campus with Grace Church Waldorf, Grace Christian Academy follows an evangelistic model of Christian education. We are the largest ministry of Grace Church, Waldorf. The school is an open-enrollment campus for those who are not solely members of Grace Church Waldorf. Students may enroll at Grace Christian Academy from all walks of life but are required to acknowledge with signature the school's Parental Statement and Statement of faith. 

School Security

Grace Christian Academy is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and secure environment that will foster a great Christian education for all students. 

We have a full-time Operations and Security Officer, a new alarm system that is monitored 24/7 by the Police and Fire, our front office windows are bullet proof, and you can only enter the building by access cards which are approved by the Director of Operations/Security or allowed in by the personnel in the front office. Furthermore, all vendors, volunteers, and visitors are required to pass our background check before entering the building. 

GCA personnel, along with students, parents, and the community will continue to make Grace Christian Academy a safe, healthy, and secure environment for Christian education.
